Why We’re Called Outrounds

In debate, outrounds are the goal every competitor strives for. They’re the rounds that come after preliminaries when students advance to the next level.

Our mission is to remove the barriers that keep students from getting there and to make sure their effort and passion, not their circumstances, determine how far they can go.

Where Outrounds began

I spent four years in speech and debate at Alief Elsik High School and later came back to coach at Alief Early College High School.
That experience taught me how life changing debate can be and how not every student gets the same chance to experience it.

The skills I learned through debate helped me start a creative studio and work with so many amazing people and businesses. I started Outrounds to help make those same opportunities possible for every student who wants to learn, grow, and find their voice.
